Having worked in Asia and globally for over 30 years, Alex brings a unique perspective to development issues. In the early 1990s, he brought together a network of civil society actors, governmental bodies, industry associations, and labor groups to raise working conditions in the Thai garment sector. Later, he built up a social auditing consultancy and trained teams throughout North and Southeast Asia to conduct agricultural and manufacturing assessments. Concurrently, Alex worked as a university lecturer and carried out extensive research on the Thai organic agriculture movement. In the last two decades, he also has conducted capacity-building and research for many multilateral organizations including the FAO, IUCN, ILO, UNDP, and USAID. Alex’s work has focused on CSR/ESG/SDG advisory services, training development and delivery, social impact assessments, and technical reports for public and private sector clients throughout Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
